Another amazing project for MedEarth! We have teamed up with Mission in Health Care and Development Africa to send medical equipment to the Kasai Region, DR Congo. We are very grateful to Dr. Luc Mulimbalima, the founder of MHCD Africa for asking us be part of this remarkable project. The equipment will help to provide basic healthcare to vulnerable people, especially women and children in the Kasai region where the infant mortality rate is very high due to inadequate access to basic healthcare.
DR Congo has been in conflict for decades. It is a land rich in natural resources but its people are among the poorest in the world. The majority of the population lives under$1.90 a day. Today more than 4 million people in the Kasai region need humanitarian assistance.
Message received from Dr Luc…
“I really thank Mel Shabat and the entire team of Medearth for your support.
Thank you Geoff and Ryan @roncrouchtransport for supporting us with transportation of those hospital beds and mattresses. Your support will improve health care and save many lives in D.R.Congo through the beds and mattresses we received from Sydney.” 🙏💚 medearthfacebook savinglives savingtheplanet 🌎💚
